I think the book is titled that because is helps with developing the theme of the book which helps expand Gatbsy's character . In the book Scott Fitzgerald made sure to show the readers how interested nick and many others were in Gatby's life . He showed how Gatsby had the biggest mansion was the richest person in Long Island how he had the biggest mansion and threw the most epic parties in the city that everyone knew about but only few were invited . Gatsby was an local celebrity that many people looked up to .He was the person that everybody was curious about and had a story to tell about him . He was man with so much fame that rose to the top of his society by his money his parties and by his lies . So in my opinion the book might be titled this because of how he went from rags to riches which is considered the American Dream .

Blog post 2 - valley of ashes
In the book the Great Gatsby the valley of Ashes" a place where the ashes grow like wheat into ridges and take forms of houses with a ash grey of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air ,a place where it's bounded on one side by a foul small river that passengers on waiting trains can stare at the dismal scene for as long as half an hour . "This place represents where the people who don't have a lot of money live . It represents the difference between The rich people and the poor people which you see when Tom goes and see Mr. Wilson and Myrtle. This is the poor section of the city that shows the difference between where gatsby, Tom, and ,daisy live from George and myrtle'a world . This is the place they say Dr. Eckleburg's billboard watches over .
